Mario and Damon
This is one of the most touching pictures I have
of Mario. If he were alive today he would be so proud of his son and Bob
Dolfi for all of the effort and love that they have put into keeping
his memory alive. Loyal friends and family were more important to Mario
than any wealth of the world. His fans were also very important to him
and he would be very surprised at how many loyal fans that will always
be that even after forty years and still going. He would also be amused
when Radio and TV announcers play his music and movies and say "Mario Lanza"
has made a great come back. Actually his fans never left, but now
there are many new ones that hear him sing once and like us are hooked
forever. When that beautiful voice left us, there will never be a replacement.
No one will ever put the enthusiasm and energy, heart and soul to sing
the song as though it would never be sung on earth again......and it won't....not
by that beautiful big golden voice. What a shame his heart wasn't as healthy
as that lovely voice. Non ti scordar di me
